“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
(Matthew 7:21)
You ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
(James 4:15)
The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.
(1 John 2:17)
“The will of God — nothing less, nothing more, nothing else.”

Like hungry investigative journalists, with our bibles open and faces turned toward heaven we should be asking:
“WHO does the Lord want me around?”
“WHAT does the Lord have for me?”
“WHERE does the Lord want me to be?”
“WHEN does the Lord want me to act?”
“WHY does the Lord love me so?”
“HOW does the Lord want me to do it?”
In days like these, questions like these should be at the forefront of every believer’s mind. We’ve been strategically placed by the skillful hands of God for these very days (see Matthew 5:13-16). The New Testament makes it clear that no believer remains upon the earth to satisfy their own flesh and seek their own pleasures (see Galatians 6:7-9). We’re here to diligently pursue the pleasure of the One who created us. In so doing, we find that ultimate and eternal gratification is actually found in that pursuit all along!
So, may the longings of our hearts be to please Him everyday in every way He gives us to do so. May His Gospel be demonstrated through our lives and declared from our lips. May His joy be ours as we embrace His will over our own and encounter His great grace at each turn along our way.
So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
(2 Corinthians 5:9-10)
